Give the Gift of Pancreatic Cancer?
I stumbled on a controversial cartoon by Mike Adams posted at www.newstarget.com. It features two women standing at a display case looking to buy some sausage product from "Hickary Farms". The sign board above the display has the sub-headline of "Give the Gift of Pancreatic Cancer". Yikes! It also says the sausage is made with "real processed meat" and "made with real chemicals". Makes you want to reconsider what you eat. Check it out here.

Trying to Be Green -- What do the labels mean?
Phil Lempert's blog has an excellent article describing what all the labels mean.
What's the difference between 100% Organic, Organic, Made with Organic, Local, Grass Fed and Free-range/Cage free along with other labels.
I say, go visit the farm where you get your food, or have someone you trust tell you about the place.

Why Buy "Sustainable" Food
Here's a great blog entry from "Sooz" in Texas spelling out the reasons why we should buy food from sustainable sources. I couldn't agree more. I especially agree that the meat just tastes better.
Why My Family and I Eat Grassfed Beef
I don't know Laura from the Urbanhennery, but I found her blog and read her entry about the benefits of grass-fed beef. It was so well written I wanted to link to it, so here it is. Like Laura says: "So if you're going to choose to eat beef (and really don't all of us omnivor's like a good steak once in a while?) choose 100% grass fed beef. It's better for you, the cow and the environment."
Great post Laura!
